I know there are a few Captain Jack fans on my flist, so I thought I'd post a link to this.

I had just looked up the Doctor Who site and noticed the graphic, but it didn't seem to give any information about the show, so I had to look John Barrowman up on imdb to see if it was for real.

I decided that there was no way I was going to make the train that would get me to the 8am Case discussions, so I'm going to write in LJ instead.

Are there any Get Smart fans on my flist? Isn't it sad that Don Adams died over the weekend? Smart was a big part of my childhood.

Just wondering whether anybody has ever watched Raymonda on video or DVD? I received my subscription information from the Australian Ballet for next year and the version they're doing has been moved from the time of the crusades to Hollywood in the 50s. Whilst I think I might go to it, I've been wanting to see the traditional version for ages - ever since I saw the photo of it in this illustrated children's encyclopedia we had. None of the libraries I belong to have it, (except perhaps Victorian College of the Arts, which is a branch of my uni) and nor does the ABC shop sell it. Amazon appears to have two versions - the Bolshoi and a Nureyev version (therefore Paris Opera Ballet?). If I'm going to have to order it from there I would like to buy the one I'm most likely to enjoy.

Last night the ABC played Aliens of London. I'm now looking forward to World War Three. But I realised that I hadn't asked about something that bothered me a couple of weeks ago.

What have I done to deserve such noisy neighbours?

After being disturbed yesterday by something I definitely didn't want to hear at 8am on a Sunday, I was woken at 2.30am this morning by the same neighbour having a loud conversation. Not impressed. Knocked on his door to ask him to keep it down a little. Not that asking helped. Must be a new neighbour - I'd never seen him before.

On a more positive note, we are soon to get Regency House Party on the ABC. I've been wanting to see it ever since I first heard about it - after all The Edwardian Country House was quite entertaining.

Other TV I've enjoyed recently is the Poirot series with David Suchet in the title role. Last week Toby Stephens and Gemma Jones were among the cast, last night Paul McGann and next week Lucy Briers (Mary Bennet from Pride and Prejudice). Unfortunately I missed the first one (Death on the Nile), but I'm sure that there will be a video/DVD once the series is finished. It's a pity it's so short (4 episodes), Poirot is my favourite Agatha Christie sleuth. Hopefully it has done well enough to warrant another series.

Has anybody read Bryce Courtenay's Jessica? Or my fellow Aussies seen the mini-series? I caught the last 30-40 minutes of Part I, but had forgotten to set my VCR for the start and am wondering what I missed out on. What I did see was Jessica's sister seducing Jack, etc. Mustn't miss tonight
